Fall is a busy time in the watershed. Tourists from all over the province (and beyond) flock to the Ottawa Valley to enjoy the beautiful fall colours. One great opportunity to explore the beauty of this area is to take part in the Ottawa Valley Tourist Association’s Rural Ramble! This self guided driving tour takes place over 3 consecutive weekends (Sept 18th – October 3rd). There are four main themes; Adventure Exploration, Agriculture and Foods, Arts and Culture, and History and Heritage. With such a diversity of activities, there is surely to be something for everyone.

The Bonnechere River Watershed is a proud supporter of Rural Ramble. We believe such events help to reinforce community bonds and a sense of pride in our own Renfrew County. We also feel that this is a great opportunity for watershed residents to explore the watershed, and better understand how large and interconnected it actually is. The map below shows an overlay of our watershed boundary on one of the maps used for Rural Ramble.
